Product Details

Since 1988, Denime has been renowned for its impeccable reproductions of vintage American jeans from the 1950s and 1960s. Recently, their production has reached new heights with their integration into Warehouse & Co. This time, Warehouse has done a reproduction of a Japanese classic, the Denime XX that was created in 1988. Denime, along with Warehouse & Co, was a part of the "Osaka Five", a group of five brands that really put Japan at the forefront of making high-quality denim.

The fabric has been meticulously developed in collaboration with Kurabo Industries, following authentic recipes from the era. Utilizing uneven yarn ring-spun from the same rice cotton as in the past, the fabric undergoes an extensive rope-dyeing process in indigo baths to achieve a deep, enduring indigo hue that will fade beautifully over time. Prior to dyeing, Denime employs the Warehouse room-temperature water during the refining process, resulting in dyed areas that remain dark while the core retains its pristine white, ensuring high-contrast fading with wear and washes. Woven on the old-fashioned Toyoda GL3 loom, the fabric boasts an uneven and distinctive texture.

This fit, known as 220A, embodies vintage denim in every detail. Resembling Levi's from the 1950s-1960s, it features a high waist, wide fit, and slightly tapered leg. It includes details such as a leather patch, hidden rivets, and a red tab, paying homage to Levi's in a beautiful manner. Warehouse has meticulously reproduced every detail, from the texture of the patch to the color of the sewing thread and the buttons, to capture Denime's founding era accurately.

*Denime remains faithful to non-wash versions, so it's important to note that these jeans will shrink. We highly recommend soaking the jeans in hot water before the first wear. Expect around 4cm (1.5in) of shrinkage in the waist and 7.6cm (3in) in the inseam when soaking in warm water, so please refer to the product size chart accordingly.

Denime is a Japanese denim brand established in 1988 by Yoshiyuki Hayashibe, which recently became part of the Warehouse & Co. group. Renowned for its dedication to craftsmanship and authenticity, Denime gained prominence during the repro jeans boom as one of the Osaka 5. With Warehouse's guidance, Denime enhances its production, aiming to deliver exceptional quality and value in every garment."
